“glaskins gallery” is a trendy innovative gallery in Trinity Beach, Cairns, Queensland, exhibiting Australian Indigenous and Contemporary Hawaiian art and merchandise, owned by Garry "Kalika" Flange Irukandji Llewellyn Glaskin of Trinity Beach in Cairns, Queensland.
Its principal art work is by mother and son, Lyla Joan Hume and acclaimed Hawaiian Oceanic artist, Derek “Dingo” Gala Hu’Me Glaskin, both born in Western Australia and of Bibbulum and Wardandi descent. Other featured artists are Thomas Storrie and Trevor and Olivia Peckham, local Cairns Indigenous artists and “Arafin”, an artist from Indonesia. Other known Indigenous artist like George Ward Tjungurrayi, Lily Kelly Napangati, Rosemary Petyarre, Lynette Nungarrayi, Ani and Eddie Blitner are also featured, along with local artist Tanya Ashworth and local Mission Beach jeweller, Michelle White and Cairns local jewellers, Bev and Dunx Dunkley .
The gallery is located within the “Sails at Trinity Beach" complex at 22-24 Trinity Beach Road, alongside Blue Moon Grill, four times dual state finalist in the Far North Queensland Restaurants and Caterers Association. Blue Moon Grill has one of the most relaxing atmospheres of any restaurant on the Northern Beaches and offers a vast array of international and local produce.

Glaskin’s art has been exhibited worldwide, including at the Kluge Rughe Aboriginal Art Collection at the University of Virginia, the gallery that made Australia Indigenous art famous, and also at the Australian Aboriginal Fine Art Gallery of New York.
Glaskin’s artwork has also been featured in the Indigenous Law Bulletin produced by the Law Faculty of the NSW University and his Aboriginal Hawaiian cultural paintings are considered treasures of the Polynesian Kingdom of Atooi (the legal heirs of the Kamehameha Trust and Benice Pauhi Bishop Trust) in Kauai.
On August 21st, 2009, Derek Dingo Glaskin was appointed the Ambassador - Minister of Aboriginal Arts and Culture to Australia for the Polynesian Kingdom of Atooi - Hawaii Kingdom by Ali'i Nui Dayne Aleka Aipolani.
Derek`s brother, gallery owner and curator, Garry Kalika Irukandji Glaskin was also appointed on April 1st, 2010, as Ambassador to Australia for the Polynesian Kingdom of Atooi - Hawaiian Kingdom.
Garry Glaskin is the founder, along with Aboriginal brother, Trevor and Olivia Peckham, of Trinity Picininis of Aboriginal Creative Art in Australia, which devotes it`s artistic expertise to the re-education of our children in Aboriginal Trinity and Polynesian Atooi lore through art, music, film and story telling.
Art and Cultural Classes are regularly held in the gallery for children 4 yo to 16 yo and can be contacted through the website or contact numbers.
"glaskins gallery" would like to pay respect to the Aboriginal members of our community by acknowledging the traditional Yirriganydji owners of this land. Acknowledgement also to our Aboriginal Trinity people, the Jidinji, Gimoy and Tjpakai clans.
